Summary:
The Construction Manager oversees and directs construction projects from conception to completion.
The position requires a comprehensive knowledge of construction practices related to the construction of midstream facilities, including Cryogenic Gas Processing Plants, Fractionation, Export terminals, LPG Chilling, Dehydration, Liquid Handling, and Gas and Liquid treating.
Planning, design, analytical problem solving, decision making, and good communication skills are necessary for the position.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
o Manages, coordinates, and monitors all aspects of construction of capital projects.
This includes pipeline, compressor stations, dehydration facilities and processing facilities.
o Plans and coordinates construction activity, material delivery, and all work involving construction crews and inspectors.
Identify, train, and manage qualified inspectors for construction projects.
o Monitors construction expenses and provides routine updates to project manager.
o Works closely with the Project Engineering team to effectively manage changes to scope and/or design of projects during construction.
Provides timely feedback to contractors during change process to ensure efficient production.
Manages the change order process per ETP construction contract.
o Works closely with the Project Engineering team in development of project scope and bid exhibits prior to bid meetings.
o Detailed knowledge of company policies and procedures, industry practices, construction standards, welding procedures, and OSHA rules and regulations.
o Prepare and submit completion reports, job books, etc.
o Ensure project objectives are met during the construction phase including safety, environmental, security, quality, schedule, cost controls and community relations.
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily.
The requirements for this position are listed below:
o Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
o Minimum 8
years related experience which should include a good knowledge of Industry Practices, construction standards, welding procedures.
Also, the use and interpretation of piping schematics, as-builts, blueprints, P&ID's and other construction drawings.
o Working knowledge of export terminal and fractionation facilities operation, maintenance and construction practices.
o Knowledge of OSHA PSM requirements.
o Excellent communication and organizational skills.
o Self-motivated.
o Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
o Usually, field and normal office working conditions.
o Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
o Occasional overnight travel may be required.
o Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
