OCI Beaumont OCI Beaumont Nederland, TX Nederland, TX Full-time Full-time From $90,000 a year From $90,000 a year Provide daily support to Operations, Maintenance and Reliability Engineering which includes leading rotating machine activities, ensuring compressors, steam turbines and pumps are operating at high reliability levels, and supporting operations and maintenance during troubleshooting, upsets, or emergencies.
Provide support for specification, design, purchase, installation and commissioning of rotating machines, safety controls, and critical spare parts to maintain or improve plant safety, profitability, efficiency, and reliability.
Essential Job Functions Support reliability improvements on steam turbines, compressors, pumps, gearboxes, and fans within the site.
Champion development of specific PM and PdM plans to maintain reliable operation of critical machinery systems in support of reliable operation.
Perform RCAs on failed rotating machines, communicate with the operations and maintenance team, develop and implement improvement actions to prevent repeat failures.
Troubleshoot machinery problems for Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering as requested.
Evaluate PM compliance and determine if changes are needed in the PM task or frequency changed to improve machine reliability.
Must be available for emergency callouts via phone/in person to support plant operations from a machinery standpoint.
Confer with engineers, operations personnel, maintenance personnel and others to discuss rotating machine maintenance problems and implement appropriate solutions.
Assist with development of machine upgrade projects and lead small projects on rotating machine upgrades.
Assist with the management-of-change process as needed when rotating machinery is involved.
Redline and markup changes/corrections to P&ID drawings as needed and submit to document control for revision.
Evaluate maintenance millwright workmanship, provide feedback to maintenance supervisor and follow-up with coaching and mentoring on improvement in performing tasks at a high degree of workmanship/precision.
Direct or coordinate construction, maintenance, documentation, or testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or site requirements.
Prepare specifications for purchases of new machines or spare parts.
Oversee compressor and steam turbine overhauls during outages.
Provide QA/QC to 3rd party contractors and maintenance millwrights.
Oversee compressor and steam turbine rebuilds in 3rd party shops.
Provide input to repair recommendations and review inspection reports for accuracy.
Oversee small project efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Operate hand-held vibration analyzer and software to perform machinery diagnostics as required.
Provide various reports as needed.
Follow all relevant company policies and procedures.
Assists other Departments and other administrative personnel as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS Education, Experience, and/or Training 10
yrs.
experience in all phases of high speed compressors, steam turbines, gearboxes, fans and centrifugal pump installations, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance in the chemical or oil/energy industry required.
Familiar with API standards, i.
e.
685, 610, 682, 676, 674, 675, 681, 617, 673, 611 and 612 preferred.
Familiar with all API seal flush plans in API 682 preferred.
Experience in the methanol and ammonia processes is preferred.
High School diploma or G.
E.
D certificate required.
Associate degree in industrial technology or industrial maintenance preferred.
