Summary:
The purpose of the position is to provide general care, cleaning and feeding of animals housed at NVC and to perform related work in maintaining and operating the facility in a sanitary and efficient manner.
This includes feeding, watering, cleaning, walking, bathing, medicating, and monitoring the well-being of dogs, cats and, occasionally, other companion animals.
This position requires a love of animals, the ability to warmly welcome and compassionately care for a wide variety and number of pets, and a detail-oriented, self-starting, can-do attitude.
Kennel team members use excellent communication and client-service skills to admit and discharge pets and reassure nervous clients that their pets will be well cared for in their absence.
Kennel team members demonstrate professional and courteous behavior toward clients and coworkers while handling multiple tasks, even during many interruptions.
Kennel team members empathize with clients and remain compassionate and well-mannered if a client becomes emotional or discourteous.
They strongly believe in the quality of care provided and communicate this sense of assurance to clients.
Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises.
May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste, and contagious diseases.
Must be able to withstand all weather conditions, heavy labor associated with caring for animals, kennel department and grounds by way of sanitation and cleanliness.

Full-Time A Day in the Life of an NVC Kennel Technician We are seeking an experienced Kennel Technician to join our team.
The successful candidate will share our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our loyal clientele and the highest quality care to their boarded and hospitalized pets.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Cleaning cages.
Feeding and caring for dogs and cats.
Walking dogs.
Bathing dogs.
Doing laundry.
Cleaning and maintaining hospital premises.
Assisting Doctors and Technicians when necessary.
Physical Demands:
Ability to clean and prepare floors and walls of kennels requiring the use of hoses, mops, squeegees and flexible-head scrub brushes.
Ability to perform repetitive up/down and sideways scrubbing and motion utilizing hands, arms and shoulders.
The mobility to bend and stoop, to access the top sides and back of stainless steel cages for cleaning purposes.
Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds for short distances.
Ability to walk, restrain and handle (utilizing leash, catch-pole, net or manual) different species of animals of all sizes.
